Cycling is surprisingly popular in the Pattaya area, although a lot of people will not realise this as most cyclist are up and out at the crack of dawn and are riding along the quiet empty roads to the East of The Darkside which very few people frequent.
There are a number of cycling groups which meet up for regular rides, and there are an increasing number of quality bike shops springing up all over town.
More recently with the Bike for Dad and Bike for Mom events an increasing number of Thais are now out cycling. There are also now purpose made cycling tracks for families being built, and there are a number of big races or sportive style events both on and off road are appearing on the calendar
