The 27-hole Crystal Bay Golf Resort (formerly Legacy Crystal Bay Golf Resort) course was built by Thai Takenaka of Japan and first opened for play in 1988 as Natural Park Resort. It has been owned and operated by the Legacy golf group of properties since 2010. The Pattaya golf course is 45 minutes from Pattaya and 1.5 hours from Bangkok, it is located near Sriracha. Crystal Bay offers decent tee boxes, lush fairways, and average greens, and is described as a Hawaiian type course with palm tree lined holes.
The Pattaya golf course is a simple 27-hole layout with three nine-hole courses that differ in elevation and hazards. The course features a combination of designed fairways and links-style holes. Water is everywhere, primarily along fairways, while some waterways demand a carry over to the green. Bunkers play a crucial part in determining the outcome of the game, necessitating the use of precise strokes.
The 3rd hole, a par 4 dogleg, and the 8th hole, a par 3 island, are particularly fascinating and pleasant. Water isn't necessarily employed as a danger; it can also be used to enhance the attractiveness of the course. This course will provide more possibilities for birdies than others, and it will provide a good opportunity to play to your handicap or better.
The clubhouse needs some renovation, and the golf course conditions change throughout the year, so it's a good idea to check before going. A good Pattaya golf day is complete with a lunch of Thai or international cuisine and a refreshing beer or soft drink in the clubhouse.
