Burapha Golf Club, which was once a private club, has held a number of professional tournaments, including the 2010 Thailand Open. The 36 holes at Burapha have been beautifully planted to take full advantage of the land's beauty and natural characteristics - lakes, hills, palm trees, and tropical vegetation.
Burapha Golf Club is situated on hilly terrain and was designed by Americans Gary Panks and David Graham. The East (A-B) Course has spacious fairways and is ideal for beginner golfers. For more advanced and professional players, the West (C-D) Course offers a challenge. The golf courses are both well-kept, with fairways and greens in generally better-than-average condition and well-placed holes.
Burapha is home to 36 holes of links and parkland type golf, surrounded by lush, verdant Thai countryside and jungle-clad hills. Parkland is the style of the American (A) and British (B) nines. The Crystal (C) and Dunes (D) nines, on the other hand, have more open links-style layouts.
Elevated tee-boxes provide fantastic vistas of the holes below, which are typical of well-designed courses. Clinging semi-rough joins forces with high-quality bunkering around the greens to emphasize striking the various-sized greens. The four Burapha courses offer a gorgeous and challenging golf experience in a pleasant, moderately wooded location.
The vistas across the valley to the majestic clubhouse of Laem Chabang Golf Club are spectacular from all four nines at Burapha, but the views from the Dunes nine are even better. Between the 6th and 7th holes on the Dunes course, the Burapha property reaches its highest peak. The golfer is rewarded with a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape from this vantage point. The high-rise condominiums of Pattaya, the port of Laem Chabang, the ocean, and enormous offshore islands are all visible. The open, undulating Dunes course is more difficult than the Crystal course on the first nine. The Crystal nine provides a nice lead-in to the more demanding and magnificently gorgeous Dunes nine, with a combination of lightly tree-lined and water-protected holes.
Golfers in Pattaya can enjoy their game in a very tranquil and quiet environment. The golfers' restaurant in the Burapha clubhouse delivers good, moderately priced local and international cuisine. Non-golfers can take advantage of a variety of amenities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, and fitness equipment. Most Pattaya golfers will find the locker rooms suitable.
