Getting a Ferry from Ban Phe to Koh Samet can get a bit confusing due to several factors. Firstly there are many different piers that offer ferry services spaced over just under 1 kilometer. Then each one has various options for either a fast speedboat or a slower (normally old) ferry, with a few in-between!!
Also, although most go to the main pier on Koh Samet others will go around the island and land passengers on one of the beaches.
On top of all this some of the better Hotels also offer a personalized ferry service.
And not surprisingly this all come with different prices.
But ultimately it does not really matter that much as prices only really vary from around 100-300 THB
There are around 30 departures a day in total with the earliest about 08:00 and the latest around 17:00.
The fastest trip takes around 15 minutes with the slower old ferries taking up to an hour
