The Laem Chabang Golf Club is a beautiful championship course created by Jack Nicklaus. It is widely regarded as Pattaya's best layout and one of Thailand's best. Laem Chabang is a 700-acre golf course with 27 holes and three sorts of features that distinguish each of the nine holes. Critics have praised this work for its unusual use of the land's varied terrain of mountains, lakes, and river basins, which are both beautiful and useful. Mountain, Lake, and Valley are three different types of topography that each equate to a 9-hole course in a different way.
The surrounding countryside's rolling hills have been exploited to great effect, and there are plenty of hazards to keep you from reaching the greens. There are plenty of bunkers, sand traps, and water hazards on the course, but there are also plenty of natural hazards in the form of exposed rock formations, lakes, ponds, and creeks. Water risks and tall coconut trees are skirted by cleverly created holes. To give the course a particular floral emphasis, each tee is marked with a board explaining a specific tree or shrub placed nearby. The huge, undulating greens are mainly raised, with wide bunkers protecting them.
The Mountain 9 is 3,446 yards long and winds its way through several hills. On the Mountain-nine, the first hole challenges you to squeeze the ball through a thick "canyon" of foliage, but there's more room than you might imagine. The second, a downhill par-3 with a beautiful water view, is about as excellent as short holes go. The course's natural undulations, intermittent water hazards, and magnificent spreading bunkers that cover the front and sides of several well raised greens will test you from there.
The Lake 9 is 3,419 yards long and has a stream that runs through almost every hole. At 3,619 yards, the Valley 9 is the longest and is sculpted in the foothills of the surrounding mountains. Although the presence of water is rarely overpowering (save on the more tricky Valley-first nine's four holes), when it does appear, it does so with great intensity and a knee-shaking impact.
The golfer will find a challenging golf course in a range of terrains thanks to these unique playing conditions. This golf course is immaculately kept and presented, blending man-made elements and extensive flower and shrub plantings with the natural grandeur of the surrounding hills, rocky outcrops, and jungle flora. With several picturesque vistas from the course, everything comes together to create a fantastic golfing experience that is distinctly Asian. All of this is enhanced by excellent clubhouse facilities and accommodations.
