Nong Bistro, an establishment co-owned by Nong, who has a Belgian partner, exudes a distinctly European ambiance. This European influence extends to the restaurant's cuisine, which features both European and Thai flavors, and there are compelling reasons for this fusion.

Nong Bistro

Nong Bistro occupies a dual shophouse frontage, and Nong informed us that they will soon expand into an adjacent unit. While there are a few outdoor seating arrangements, the main dining area is indoors and air-conditioned. A bar lines one wall, complemented by a couple of refrigerators, including one dedicated to red wines.

What immediately strikes you is the warm and friendly reception from the staff. (During our first unannounced visit, we did not disclose our identity as the Dining Out team, so the warm welcome was entirely genuine.) We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, a delightful lady who spent nine years working at one of Pattaya's top restaurants, which explains the consistently high quality of the dishes emerging from her kitchen. We even had the opportunity to inspect her immaculate kitchen, a testament to her dedication and pride in her craft.

The menu spans European and Thai offerings, with photographs accompanying most items. This considerate inclusion recognizes that not all patrons may be fluent in English or Thai.

Nong and her chef emphasized their commitment to using only top-notch ingredients, including many imports, such as Australian steaks, New Zealand lamb and mussels, and Norwegian salmon. In addition, many items, including the delectable bread rolls, are freshly baked on the premises.
